Having a baby is no cake walk. It is labor intense work whatever way you deliver. Getting back to your normal self will take some time and you will want to require an extra people to help out when you get back. And when you get there you will experience a new normal.

Postpartum Doula & Newborn Care:

Many new parents are often overwhelmed with the challenges of bringing home a new baby and postpartum adjustment and can greatly benefit from the support of a postpartum doula or Newborn Care Specialist in the first few weeks after their baby is born. When you invite one of these professionals into your home, you'll have an easier time finding balance within your new family, feel more connected to each other and your baby, feel more rested, better fed, will be less likely to experience postpartum depression and have more breastfeeding success. Some of the responsibilities may include:

• Feeding the baby/babies

• Bathing baby/babies

• Sterilizing, cleaning and preparing bottles

• Initiating a schedule for sleeping, meals, nap and play-time

• Laundering baby/babies clothing and linens

• Keeping the nursery tidy

• Changing linens

• Maintaining all supplies

• Restocking baby/babies care items

• Emptying diaper containers

• Keeping the baby/baby’s playrooms and bathroom tidy

• Keeping age appropriate toys safe and in good working order

• Keeping a daily journal of baby/babies’ schedules and moods

• Running baby/babies related errands as directed

• Transporting baby/babies to activities and appointments

• Singing, reading, and stimulating activities for the baby/babies

• Lactation support

• Bottle preparation

• Diaper changing

• Bathing and dressing

Educate Family Members

Return items to various stores 

Drop off and pick up items at various repair shops

Light Housekeeping:

Clean and organize food/produce purchased

Weekly laundry (kitchen towels, rags, dog bed)

Fold clothes as requested

Hand wash dishes, run dishwasher

Maintain clean kitchen area (stove, sink, microwave, refrigerator)

Prep food for cooking and/or cook/bake a few items weekly as directed

Assist in meal planning for child and/or family
